The purpose of this policy is to:

  • Safeguard all children involved in our activities

2. Definition of a Child

A child is defined as any individual under 18 years of age, as per Indian law.

3. Scope of the Policy

This policy applies to every individual associated with Claritech Foundation, including:

  • Full-time and part-time staff members

  • Volunteers (short-term and long-term)

  • Trainers, instructors, and teachers

  • Interns and project assistants

  • Support staff (administrative, operational, etc.)

  • Visitors to centers, classrooms, or events

  • Partner organizations and their representatives

  • Digital facilitators conducting online training or sessions

  • Any person interacting with children under Claritech Foundation programs

No individual associated with Claritech Foundation is exempt from this policy.

5. Code of Conduct (Mandatory for All)

All individuals covered under this policy must:

5.1 Appropriate Behavior

  • Treat every child with respect and dignity

  • Maintain professional boundaries at all times

  • Always speak politely to children

  • Encourage positive learning environments

  • Ensure activities are safe and age-appropriate

5.2 Inappropriate / Prohibited Behavior

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

  • Physical abuse (hitting, slapping, pushing, etc.)

  • Emotional abuse (insulting, threatening, belittling)

  • Sexual abuse or inappropriate touching

  • Harassment or bullying of any kind

  • Giving gifts or personal favors without permission

  • Taking children to isolated or private places

  • Taking photos/videos of children without prior consent

  • Sharing children’s personal information publicly

  • Asking a child for personal, private, or contact details

  • Communicating privately or secretly with children

  • Exposing children to harmful content (offline or online)

Violation of any of the above will lead to strict disciplinary action including termination, legal action, and reporting to authorities.

6. Online Child Safety

For online training sessions or digital interactions:

  • Use only official Claritech-approved platforms

  • No private video calls or chats with children

  • Sessions must be recorded or monitored

  • No exchange of personal phone numbers or social media IDs

  • No sharing of harmful digital content

  • No one-on-one unsupervised online sessions

7. Reporting Concerns or Incidents

Any individual associated with Claritech Foundation must immediately report:

  • Suspicion of child abuse

  • Misconduct by staff, volunteers, or visitors

  • Unsafe behavior

  • Any danger to a child

Reports may be made to:

Child Protection Officer (CPO)
Program Manager
Foundation Director
✔ Or directly to local authorities in emergencies

Failing to report can lead to disciplinary action.

8. Handling and Investigation of Complaints

  • All reports are handled confidentially and sensitively

  • A designated committee will investigate promptly

  • The child’s identity will be protected

  • Appropriate disciplinary or legal action will be taken if needed

  • The child’s safety is always the first priority

9. Confidentiality

All information related to child protection concerns is kept strictly confidential.
It will only be shared with:

  • Authorized persons

  • Authorities (if legally required)

10. Recruitment and Background Checks

Claritech Foundation may conduct:

  • Background verification

  • ID checks

  • Reference checks

  • Interviews focusing on child protection awareness

This ensures only safe, responsible individuals work with children.

11. Staff & Volunteer Training

All staff, volunteers, and trainers will receive:

  • Orientation on child protection

  • Training on appropriate behavior

  • Guidelines for identifying signs of abuse

  • Instructions on reporting procedures
